The 14,000-acre Lake Thompson is a National Natural Landmark that is filled with northern pike, walleye, perch and crappies. Located eight miles southeast of De Smet, Lake Thompson also offers over 100 campsites, four cabins, a five-bedroom group rental lodge, beach, playground, boat dock, fish cleaning station and more.
