This elegant Italianate-style Dakota Territory structure is the Watertown home of the Dakota Territory's last governor and the first governor of South Dakota, Arthur Calvin Mellette. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Mellette House includes a massive circular staircase. Guided tours are available.
