Approximately 4,500 acres, this park is the largest urban park in the United States and it is five times larger than New York City's famed Central Park. The park was originally a working penal farm dedicated to the rehabilitation of prisoners and, today, visitors can enjoy walking, fishing, mountain biking, horseback riding, inline skating, soccer, pistol and rifle ranges, hiking, and picnicking. Numerous community events are held here throughout the year.
