Complaint Description:
Majestic Mountain Vacations misrepresented the condition of a cabin for rent. Majestic Mountain Vacations represented a "Luxury Cabin" for rent with numerous amenities including: 1 Big Screen TV, 2 other TVs, 1 DVD, Telephone, and High Speed Internet.

I rented this cabin for my HONEYMOON. At the time of check in, we were required to pay in full for the entire rental period (Cabin sight unseen). We entered the cabin and found soiled towels in the Master Bedroom, the TV in the master Bedroom and "Big Screen" TV in the living room did not work. The telephone had no dial tone and management Internet access was unavailable. I immediately called management to report the problem. I spoke to "Andrew" the maintenance man and explained the problems. He promised to come by the cabin but NEVER SHOWED UP. I explained we were newleyweds waiting to go out for dinner and gave him my mobile telephone number. He NEVER CALLED. We ended up waiting in the cabin the entire evening. We were unable to reach him again by telephone.

The next day I called Ginger who claimed to be a manager. She said we could just leave the cabin and she would "try" to arrange maintenance personnel to resolve our problems. We were not comfortable leaving our personal belongings unattended and waited for "Frank" to show up. He confirmed all problems to Ginger as reported.

On the 3rd day of our visit, the Big Screen TV was replaced with a new one. High Speed Internet was NEVER provided and the telephone was inoperative for our entire stay. Majestic Mountain Vacation did not live up to their obligations to provide a luxury cabin with the amenities represented. It is implausible they were unaware of so many problems prior to renting the cabin to unsuspecting guests. The cabin they offered to move us to was not acceptable. We came to have a view of the mountainside, not a backdrop of trees and we had already wasted enough time out of our honeymoon waiting for maintenance personnel at the original cabin to pack everything up and move.

To add insult to injury, the response to our credit card dispute from Tom Simmons, General Manager, is factually inaccurate. Only one TV (not two) was replaced. The telephone and Internet never worked. His statement that "Guest left the cabin the day after check in without letting us fix the problem" is a baldface lie.

I hope this complaint will help disuade other propsective renters from Majestic Mountain. BEWARE and look elsewhere.

At this point, I don't want a thing from Tom Simmons, Majestic Mountain Vacations, or Ginger except the knowledge that their customer service is unacceptable and the ethics of their business practices are very much in question. When you advertise a Luxury Cabin for rent with all of the amenities, the amenities need to work. If they don't then don't represent to prospective customers the amenities exist. When an employee of Majestic Mountain Vacations says they will be by to fix a problem, then SHOW UP AND DO IT. It's just that simple and it goes to a company's core values and ethical business practices.

I had one chance for a nice honeymoon. Unfortunately, my trust in Majestic Mountain Vacations was misplaced and it tarnished the limited time my wife and I had to focus on things other than fixing the problems in their cabin.
