A branch of the Tennessee State Museum, the Military Museum houses exhibits which explore America's overseas conflicts from the Spanish-American War in 1898, to World War II in 1945. Each discusses the war and its major battles and outcome. Some objects include memorials, a deck gun from the U.S.S. Nashville, weapons, personal military items, General Dwight Eisenhower's jacket, propaganda posters, Alvin C. York's uniform and decorations, and the original teletype from General George Marshall regarding President Franklin Roosevelt's death.
