"The Victorian mansion where history is fun," Falcon Rest was built in 1896 by Clay Faulkner, manufacturer of Gorilla Pants -- "so strong even a gorilla couldn't tear them apart." Called "Tennessee's Biltmore" by PBS, it had electric lights, indoor plumbing, central heat and more. Some say it's presided over by a friendly ghost, perhaps the proud builder himself. Guided mansion tours, shopping for Victorian treasures, and delicious meals are offered daily for walk-ins, and history-based entertainment shows and meals are available for tour groups by advance reservation.
