La Spiga should be reclassified as a sandwich shop - they refuse to sell rolls or chabatatas to go, unlike a true bakery where one can buy bread, all kinds of it - from loaves to bread crumbs. My dining-in experience of the past, though, was very satisfying. It could be that the business responds to recession cutting services, just like customers cutting expenses.
