This museum was once Formosa, the studio of Nineteenth-Century European portrait sculptor Elisabet Ney. After the death of the artist, her studio was preserved with its contents, and is now open as a museum and memorial to this gifted artist who did much to shape Texas' love and support of the arts. One can view portraits from life of mid 19th century European intellectuals, artists, and nobility, together with portraits of distinguished frontier Texans.
