This governor's residence, completed in 1856 and built in the Greek revival style, has been the home of every Texas governor since its completion, and has been called the "most historic house in Texas." This registered National Historic Landmark is the "oldest executive residence west of the Mississippi, the fourth oldest in the Nation, and the oldest to survive and function essentially in its original configuration."
