This zoo is rated among the best in the nation, with over six thousand native and exotic species, and programs in conservation and education. There are kids' fun corners providing fun and educational activities for children, and a plethora of exhibits that include Wild Texas, Raptor Canyon, World of Primates, Asian Falls, African Savannah, Meerkat Mounds, Koala Outback, Komodo Dragons, Thundering Plains, and a Herpetarium. In addition to all of these fun and educational exhibits, the zoo is also involved in ongoing conservation projects to preserve animals that are in danger of disappearing in a world that is increasingly hostile and inhospitable to natural habitats.
