Letter to the editor: Re: Dr. John C. Key, July 13, 2010, " Stonehenge II, a dubious project". Certainly times are very difficult for many in Kerr Co. and a great need for philanthropy is evident. Our friend, the late Al Sheppard WAS a generous philanthropist and dearly loved by his family. We miss him. Those who have not been priviledged to travel to England to view Stonehenge, do know Mr. Sheppards' Stonehenge in Hunt, TX brought many, tourists and visitors, to Kerr Co. and their money with them. Quoting Dr. Key, " Only an evil spirit could keep this going", is absurd. The community of HCAF friends, directors, board members and volunteers realize the difficulties and hard work it has taken to keep the theatre open, year after year. " While almost anyone can open a theatre, keeping it open is the difficult part",( Will Rogers). May all who can , give to our local food banks. While in the process, donate what you can, so the doors of the HCAF stay open for generations to come. In closing , Kerr County wear your " Stonehenge ll shirts proudly, and may God bless the memory of Mr. Al Sheppard. Bravo to the Arts and the HCAF! Gloria Rische, Kerrville, TX
