Situated very close to the intersection of the old El Camino Real de los Tejas and La Calle de Norte, this wood-frame house is the second oldest building in Nacogdoches. This hands-on museum includes a fully-functioning smokehouse, blacksmith shop, chicken coop, heirloom gardens, and a sugarcane mill. Tours are given Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Old-Fashioned Sweet Tooth Sugarcane event is held annually at the Durst-Taylor Historic House & Gardens.
