One of the largest national parks at over 800,000 acres, Big Bend features over 200 miles of hiking trails, elevations from less than 2,000 feet along the Rio Grande to nearly 8,000 feet in the Chisos Mountains, Chisos Mountains Lodge, three campgrounds, an RV Park, 450 bird species, 75 mammal species and 67 amphibian and reptile species. Big Bend National Park headquarters is located 70 miles south of Marathon, TX via Highway 118.
