    The first Dutch counsel in Port Arthur built this magnificent Dutch Colonial home that features three fireplaces that share one central chimney, original furnishings, and priceless antiques. This restored home is owned by Lamar State College.   map

    Originally built as a New England Colonial style mansion, its owners would later change the structure of this magnificent house to a Southern Greek Revival style with such features as large verandahs, wide porches, and magnificent columns. Inside the house you'll find candelabras from the Shah of Persia, early pieces of Wedgewood china, and a French made screen from the collection of Empress Carlotta of Mexico. This restored home is owned by Lamar State College.  map

    Set upon rocks from Mount Tepayac, Mexico City, where the Virgin first appeared to Juan Diego, this 17 foot high bronze statue, sculpted by artists Miguel Angel Macias and Douglas Clark, is known to be a sacred place.
