Operated with the help of the City of San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department, this 33-acre garden represents a microcosm of the diverse vegetation that is found throughout the varied and diverse landscapes and climates of Texas. Among the individual formal and display gardens that are featured is a sensory garden. The 90,000 square foot Lucile Halsell Conservatory features climate-controlled structures that include an exhibition hall, a tropical house, desert house, palm house, and a fern house. The San Antonio Botanical Garden is open year round.
