This 'park' is actually a chain of mission churches that comprise the largest collection of Catholic Mission Churches in any designated historical park. The missions are exquisite examples of Spanish Colonial architecture, and feature the original stone walls, interior paintings and arched entrance ways. If visiting, one should keep in mind that the churches are still active centers of worship and should respect and reverence them as such. The missions that are included in the Missions National Historical Park are: Concepción, San José, San Juan and Espada.
