After many years at its original home at the Municipal Airport of Terrell, Texas, the Silent Wings Museum has moved to Lubbock, Texas. The museum officially re-opened on October 19, 2002. The National World War II Glider Pilots Association held its annual reunion at the museum to coincide with the opening ceremonies. Lubbock, Texas is the home of the South Plains Army Air Field, one of the locations where WWII Glider Pilots trained.
