Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this two-story, nine-room East Lake Bracketed-style home was the birthplace of noted Washington, D.C. news correspondent, Sarah McClendon. A Texas State Historical Landmark and Tyler Historical Landmark, the McClendon House is open for guided tours that depict the political and cultural history of Tyler from post-Civil War.
