Bay Creek Resort & Club has restored a 1913 Interurban dining and excursion car for the public to enjoy. The No. 316 offers round-trip fun runs, pizza runs, and dinner excursions from Cape Charles to other towns north on the Eastern Shore, including Machipongo, Nassawadox and Exmore, with shorter excursions to nearby Cheriton and Eastville. The No. 316 has a restroom and is climate controlled.

I was so excited to surprise my mom for her 72nd birthday with an excusrion on Bay Creek Railway last night. Car no. 316 was charming and the staff, friendly. The train moved at a snail's pace, which turned out to be a nice change of pace from our hurried lives. The view was lacking, but the company was wonderful.
The food, however did not deliver. The only way to describe it is overcooked, underseasoned, institutional fair. If I have a future opportunity to travel on car no. 316, I will be sure to go during lunch.
