Open from mid-April to November, the Cape Charles Museum and Welcome Center is "dedicated to preserving and presenting to the public the history of Cape Charles and surrounding areas." Exhibits include academic, railroad and sports memorabilia, early postcards, photographs, documents, and large models of the sailing vessels, steamships, barges and ferries.
