Many prominent and historic citizens are buried at this cemetery which is the second oldest public cemetery in Charlottesville. A small section, located just north of Oak Street, is the site of the former Daughters of Zion Cemetery, and the Hebrew Cemetery, where Jewish residents of Charlottesville were buried, is located along First Street Southeast.
