The site of the Washington house, where a six year old George Washington moved with his family in 1738. Visitors are able to view where the Washington house stood overlooking the Rappahannock River, displays of Colonial and Civil War artifacts that have been found on the property, and the archaeology lab, where archaeologists are usually working Monday through Friday. The gardens contain plants that were grown in the 18th century.
