Open since 1946, the Hillsville Diner is "the oldest continuously operating streetcar diner in Virginia" and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places as part of the Hillsville Historic District. Stewed beef, gravy biscuits and buttermilk pancakes are specialties of the Hillsville Diner.
