We believe cleanliness is the mainstay of successful medicine, and insist on rigorous cleaning and disinfection. We invite you to tour the clinic.

Who is treated at our clinic?
We provide services for small animals and exotic species. Among those regularly treated here are dogs, cats, birds of all kinds, several species of monkeys, snakes, lizards, turtles and frogs, "pocket pets" such as mice, gerbils, and hamsters, rabbits, and even fish. Be sure to browse our bulletin boards for a look at the variety of pets that have been treated at our clinic. You might find it challenging to identify them all!

Medical and diagnostic services:

In addition to immunization, microchipping, preventive health care, and behavior counseling, our clinic provides a wide spectrum of medical and diagnostic services.

In-house laboratory facilities are available for blood testing, microscopic cytology, fecal tests, complete urinalysis, and antigen tests for heartworms and viral diseases. We routinely use outside lab support services for histopathology and specialized blood tests.

We provide endoscopic services including gastro-intestinal endoscopy, arthroscopy, and otoscopic examination.

Radiology services include complete gastro-intestinal tract series, dental radiographs, myelography, and other contrast procedures. We also offer evaluation for canine hip dysplasia using penn hip or ofa procedures.

In the area of exotic animals, we offer routine medical care in addition to diagnostic procedures, treatment and surgery.

We also offer advisory services on pet selection and husbandry (nutrition, preventive medicine, and proper housing)

Surgery and anesthesia

We offer a full range of surgical and dental treatments, including abdominal and intrathoracic surgery, dentistry , periodontal and endodontic treatments, ophthalmic procedures including eyelid deformity repair, and stabilization of joints and ligaments.

To ensure the safest anesthesia for your pet, we utilize a combination of pre-surgical blood screening, circulatory support, state-of-the-art controlled ventilation and gas delivery system. For extensive procedures, the patient's blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen saturation are continually monitored.

The yearly exam

When you bring your pet for its yearly vaccinations, the most important aspect of the visit is the annual physical examination. Your pet doesnÂ’t let you know about a problem until it becomes severe and then it is often more difficult and costly to treat.

A proper yearly examination consists of:

-evaluation of general appearance, including body condition and weight, the condition of the coat and skin.

-check for external parasites

-palpation of the superficial lymph nodes

-palpation of the joints

-examination of the oral cavity, including teeth, gums, and oral mucosa

-auscultation of the lungs and heart

-body temperature

-examination of the stool for parasites

-thorough examination of the eyes and ears

-for dogs, checking the blood for heartworms

The result of this thorough examination allows the doctors to recommend proper treatment, dietary measures, and grooming.

We recommend a yearly examination of all pets, including exotics. If your pet is over seven years of age, a geriatric evaluation is also suggested, which may include blood work, radiographs, and an ecg.
