Situated on 500 acres, more than half of which is in the Rappahannock River Valley National Wildlife Refuge; this National Historic Landmark was the home of Francis Lightfoot Lee, a signer of the Declaration of Independence; and his wife Rebecca Tayloe. The Menokin ruin includes original stones, brick and mortar, queen posts and dragon beams, intact framing assemblages and the interior woodwork. Menokin is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
