The home and headquarters of the Archaeological Society of Virginia, the 18th century Kittiewan Plantation overlooks Kittiewan Creek and the James River. It was the home of Dr. William Rickman, the first Surgeon General of the United States appointed by the Continental Congress. This working farm has a museum that houses an extensive set of 19th and 20th century kitchen and food preparation items and more.
