The Ball family, George Washington’s maternal kin, were parishioners of this historic church and the extant gallery in the church was constructed for their use. The church contains the oldest know altar tablets, Decalogue, Lord’s Prayer, and Apostles’ Creed, in the Commonwealth of Virginia, as well as a communion table and baptismal font from the Colonial era. An on site graveyard contains the graves of many historic families of the Northern Neck.
