The Brandon Museum celebrates the history and lives of early Brandon residents in a first generation Vermont home. Visitors learn about early Brandon History, follow the national crisis of the mid-1800s and the anti-slavery movement in town, and explore the life and career of prominent 19th century statesman Stephen A. Douglas, who was born in the home in 1813. The Museum features early photographs, Brandon artifacts, and fascinating stories about the lives and thoughts of some of the first Vermonters. Open daily 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. from mid-May through mid-October or by appointment. Handicapped accessible. No charge.
