The historic home of Vermont's founder Ethan Allen, situated on a small promontory just above the Winooski River; the Ethan Allen Homestead Museum is part of the Winooski Valley Parks District. Open from mid-May to mid-October, the Homestead offers "hands-on history, spectacular scenery and riverside picnic areas and walks," including "a genuine slice of 18th century life and an intimate look at Vermont's most colorful and controversial founder."
