The Black River Academy received students from 26 states and 3 foreign countries throughout its 103 years. Today this unique Richardsonian building embodies the cultural heritage of the Black River Valley, through instruction in traditional crafts, small theater productions, and three floors of exhibits, which include an early American house, Main St. Ludlow circa 1900, Calvin Coolidge's school days, and a one-room schoolhouse.
