Open from Memorial Day weekend to mid-October, Quechee Gorge State Park is situated on land that was originally owned by the A.G. Dewey Company, a wool processing company. Remains of the mill and dam can still be seen at the head of the gorge. An interesting aspect of Quechee Gorge State Park is that 611 acres of the park are not owned by the state, but leased from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. A camping area, two bathrooms with showers, a play area and a picnic area next to Quechee Gorge are just some of what can be enjoyed when visiting Quechee Gorge State Park.
