Historic Homes & Buildings

Westport's Historic Grays Harbor Lighthouse 1020 West Ocean Avenue, Aberdeen, WA, Located in Westport, 15 Miles West of Aberdeen, 360-268-6214, Visit Washington's tallest lighthouse. Finishing touches have been completed on the historic 1898 lighthouse. Once again, the lovely lady that lights the way for ships at sea is standing proud and beautiful. The US government has transferred ownership of the historic 1898 lighthouse to the Westport South Beach Historical Society, which is offering regular tours of the facility year round.


Libraries & Research Centers

Timberland Regional Library 121 East Market Street, Aberdeen, WA 98520, 360-533-2360, Library service in Aberdeen began in 1890 with the donation of 150 books housed in the Oddfellows Hall. It then moved to a reading room donated by Jacob Weatherwax in 1891. After a city ordinance incorporated the library in 1902, it settled into its current location with the construction of a Carnegie building in 1908. This historical building was replaced with the current library building in 1966. The City of Aberdeen contracted for library service from Timberland Regional Library beginning in 1969.  more...

Grays Harbor Historical Seaport 712 Hagara Street, Aberdeen, WA 98520, 360-532-8611, The not-for-profit Grays Harbor Historical Seaport Authority is an educational organization that owns and operates the Lady Washington, a replica of an 18th-century trading ship that visited the coast of Washington State. The Lady, as she is called, calls primarily on west coast ports, conducting sail trainings with a crew of professional sailors and volunteers. The Lady also hosts brief cruises in waters near her ports of call. The vessel is rarely at her home port of Aberdeen, except for maintenance and repairs.
