Visitors of the 723-acre Northwest Trek Wildlife Park near Mount Rainier can enjoy their signature tram tour through the 435-acre free-roaming area where they can "spot different species of animals as they wander through forests, wetlands and meadows." Open at 9:30 a.m. daily mid-February through October, Friday through Sunday November through mid-February and select holidays, Northwest Trek contains more than 200 North American animals representing more than 30 species, including bighorn sheep, grizzlies, black bears, wolves, bobcats, lynx, cougars, owls, eagles, deer, Roosevelt elk, woodland caribou, mountain goats and bison.
