The former private estate of the Bloedel family, the 150-acre Bloedel Reserve on Bainbridge Island, Washington consists of around 84 acres of second growth forest. Gardens, ponds and meadows make up the remaining acreage. "The primary purpose of the Reserve is to provide people with an opportunity to enjoy nature through quiet walks in the gardens and woodlands."
