Built from 1896 to 1904 to support the defenses of the Columbia River, this 593 acre, day use historic park is one of the few intact coastal defense sites in the United States and the park features 6,400 feet of freshwater shoreline on the Columbia River, an interpretive center, an observation station, five miles of hiking trails, and two historic buildings which are available to rent.
