Dedicated to exhibiting and collecting Northwest art, Tacoma Art Museum's permanent collection of more than 3,500 works by international, national, and regional artists includes one of the finest collections of Japanese woodblock prints on the West Coast, the largest, most comprehensive public collection of glass art by Tacoma native Dale Chihuly and 19th-century European and 20th-century American art. Public tours of the museum's exhibition are regularly offered each day at noon, based on docent availability. Tacoma Art Museum presents eight to ten "imaginatively paired exhibitions" each year.
