Fort Simcoe State Park 5150 Fort Simcoe Road, Yakima, WA 98952, Located Seven Miles West of White Swan, 509-874-2372, A 200-acre, day-use heritage park on the Yakama Indian Nation Reservation, in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains in an old oak grove watered by natural springs, Fort Simcoe State Park provides insight into local Native American culture and tells the story of mid-19th century army life when it was an 1850's-era military installation. Placed on the National Register of Historic Places in June 1974, the park contains five original fort buildings. Its exhibits and displays pertain to the history of the American Hop industry from its early days in the New England colonies to its expansion into California and the Pacific Northwest.
