Jefferson County Courthouse
100 East Washington Street
Charles Town, WV 25414
304-728-3240
Suffering severe damage during the Civil War when it was bombed by the Confederate Army, it was not restored until 1872. In 1859, the abolitionist John Brown was tried here for treason. This is still a working courthouse.
