Boll Weevil Monument Main and College, Enterprise, AL 36330, 334-347-0581, The world's only monument to a pest is a reminder of when, in 1915, the Mexican boll Weevil found its way into Alabama from Texas and wreaked havoc on the cotton crop.Farmers faced bankruptcy and turned to peanuts and other crops to overcome the damage wrought by the boll weevil. In gratitude for the lessons learned, residents erected the boll Weevil Monument.
