    This museum is full of artifacts from old Fairhope. You can see displays on Clay City, the Single Tax Association and the Civil War. You can also see personal belongings from some of Fairhope's first families.

    Fairhope Museum Of History is in a Spanish Mission Revival structure build as Fairhope’s first municipal building that has been returned it to appear as it did in 1928, with the mayor’s office, town council room (class room can be used by the public during museum hours) original jail and fire department featuring the Eastern Shore’s first, original 1935 fire truck. The back of the museum has displays on Fairhope’s colorful history including Clay City, People’s Railroad car, the Single Tax Colony (the No. 1 question), wharf house, Alabama City, Creole families, Indians, businesses and many, many pictures.   map

    Established in 1986, the Weeks Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve is a protected education and research site for Weeks Bay, a small Baldwin County estuary that receives water from the Magnolia and Fish Rivers and is connected to Mobile Bay. Weeks Bay Estuary is a habitat for several plants and animals and features nature trails, picnic areas, hummingbird and butterfly gardens, and an interpretive center with displays of historical, ecological, archeological, live and preserved specimens.  more...  map
