Horse Pens 40 Chandler Mountain Road, Steele, 256-570-0002, This unique piece of land still has rings of rocks that were once used as pens by early settlers, for cattle and horses. The area continues to host various events such as arts & crafts shows, Native American Festivals, and Civil War reenactments. Nichols Memorial Library Corner of Cabot & Dwight Avenues, This library is open for genealogical research every Thursday, and the first and third Saturday of each month. It is the home of the Northeast Alabama Genealogical Society and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
