    One of three properties owned, preserved and protected by the Madison Historical Society, the Allis-Bushnell House includes period furniture, textiles, toys, costumes and medical, nautical and agricultural implements. Guests will also enjoy the formal English-style herb garden, which includes culinary and medicinal herbs commonly used in households of the 18th and 19th centuries, at the rear of the Allis-Bushnell House. Tours of the house, open to visitors from late May through early September, focus on the home's architectural and decorative features and the history and contributions of the families who lived here. more...  map
