Historic Homes & Buildings

Dawson County Courthouse (circa 1859) Located On the Square, 706-265-6278, Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this Greek Revival style building features wide cornices, symmetrical facades, and double hung windows. An array of historic documents, local relics, and Indian artifacts are housed inside the courthouse.

Dawsonville Old Jail (circa 1881) Located off the Square in Downtown Dawsonville, 706-265-6278, The local Welcome Center and Chamber offices are located inside this historic building that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Visitors are welcome to tour the old prison cells and former living quarters of the county sheriff.
