Suwannee Canal Recreation Area Route 2, Box 336, Folkston, GA 31537, Located on GA Highway 121/23, 912-496-7156, Situated deep in the 396,000 acre Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge, this recreation area is known as the eastern access to the wildlife refuge and it is the site of the visitors center. Visitors can rent motorboats and canoes for limited trips along the Suwannee Canal, as well as enjoy both walking and driving trails that offer superb wildlife viewing opportunities, while at this area. Overnight trips also embark from here.

Folkston Golf Course 202 Country Club Road, Folkston, GA 31537, 912-496-7155, Pecan and cedar trees line the fairways of this beautiful public 18 hole, par 72 golf course and numerous sand bunkers have been incorporated into the course. The short front nine features water hazards on three holes and the back nine features many man-made hills which cause uneven lies.  

Okefenokee Sporting Clays Route 2, Box 3778, Folkston, GA 31537, 912-496-2417, Enjoy shotgun shooting at this lakeside course that provides excellent skeet shooting and a quail preserve. They are open Saturdays and Sundays from noon until dark, and by appointment. Six 400-shot tournaments are held here throughout the year.
