Recreation Areas

Shipwreck Beach 1 Keomoku Highway, Lanai City, HI 96763, This beach stretches over miles of northeast coast of Lanai and is excellent for beachcombing, hiking, and fishing from the shore. The beach is made up of a series of sand, boulders, and lava rock and is known for causing "wrecks" including the World War II Liberty Ship whose hulk still clings to reef close to the shore. Because of the currents, swimming is not recommended.
