Since 1970, this festival held over Labor Day weekend, has been a time of fun for the whole community. It features an Arts & Crafts Fair with 250 exhibitors, a carnival, nightly fireworks, entertainment, the Miss Septemberfest Competition, Not-for-Profit Day on Monday when 30 not-for-profit groups sell food to raise funds, Taste of Schaumburg, and the Septemberfest Parade. Admission for all events, including entertainment, is free.

The independent Northern League professional baseball league features 12 teams including the Schaumburg Flyers. Games are played from May to September. Several post-game fireworks shows, as well as other special events are offered.
