    Now known as "The Sliman Theatre for the Performing Arts," the 600-seat Art Deco-style Evangeline Theatre opened as a movie theatre in 1930 and closed in 1960. The restored theatre is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is home to the Louisiana Crossroads concert series.
