    Legend has it that this home was built as a retreat for Maria Louisa, the Queen of Spain, during the French Revolution. It was later owned by the founder of Thibodaux, Henry S. Thibodaux. This plantation is privately owned and is not open to tours.  map

    The Jean Lafitte National Park Wetlands Acadian Cultural Center tells the story of the Acadians who settled along the bayous and the wetland swamps of southeastern Louisiana, with extensive exhibits and artifacts. A musical Cajun Jam Session takes place every Monday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. A spacious boardwalk affords an excellent view of the bayou.   map
