The main parlour, the breakfast room and the sitting room, as well as all the guestrooms, feature a décor that is sparsely elegant, and a lovely, sweeping stair case leads to the upstairs portion of the house. A Continental breakfast is included with one’s stay. They are near the Salem Witch musieum, the Peabody Effix musieums. map

Henry Derby House (circa 1836) 47 Summer Street, Salem, MA 01970, 978-745-1080, This charming Nineteenth Century Greek Revival house has a central location making it easy for one to explore local attractions; the house, known locally as the “window box house,” offers three luxurious guestrooms, one with a king sized bed and a private bath, while two other rooms, with either one or two twin beds, have either private or shared baths, depending upon occupancy. The house is surrounded by a secluded and tranquil garden that comes to full glory during the summer months, and a complimentary breakfast is served each morning in the elegant, formal dining room. map
