Dentzel Menagerie Carousel South Church Street, City Park, 336-222-5030, Built by the Dentzel Carousel Company in 1910, this beautiful carousel is the centerpiece of the 76 acre City Park and is one of only 14 Dentzel Menagerie Carousels that remains intact in the world. There are 46 handcarved animals on the carousel, including 26 horses.

Historic Sites & Monuments

Alamance Battleground State Historic Site 5803 South NC 62, Burlington, NC 27215, 336-227-4785, "A State Historic Site and a Primary Revolutionary War Site", this historic site is the site where Royal Governor William Tryon led the North Carolina militia in battle against the Regulators on May 16, 1771. Fairchild Park Off of Cloverdale Street, 336-222-5119, Nestled on ten acres of sprawling grounds, this park features a three court tennis complex, two children's playgrounds, two adult softball fields, and two open picnic shelters.
